i just fried the Titan 12 in my xl5 rustler. any suggestions for a replacement 12 that will perform better?

A tower hobbies 14 turn may do a bit better. It might be slightly over the limit of the esc though.

try a trinity speed gems 13 turn motor it runs great and is very fast

keep in mind that esc is only rated down to a 15 turn 540 motor or 12 turn 550. Might want to stick to something that's compatible with it or get a new esc.

Thanks for the input. A local shop sells a 15 turn 540 called a venom fireball, is this a decent motor?

I had the 15 turn Venom, wouldn't recommend it. Doesn't perform like a 15 turn at all.

thanks. does anyone know why the esc can handle a 12 turn in a 550 size and only a 15 in the 540 can?

A 540 pulls more current because of the shorter armature/windings.

hey i have gone through 3 stok motors on my o6 rustler i dont know hats goin on and ive tried every gear n it always gets to hot n ends up goin only bout 5 miles and hour after a couple runs any suggestions for a new motor ? could it be my speed control giving too much power or sumtin?

A 19T Orion maybe a good option :) , should give a good amount of power to running time ratio, it is really hit or miss with the stock motors, sometimes they wear out left and right, and then again, they can last forever, it all depends :rolleyes:
