Hi,
I have wound my Gbx single stator two times now. Each time I used different size of propeller with the same result , SMOKE !!
Here is what I have done:
18T 26g on 9 pole stator
My power combination:
1) Jeti advanc plus 30 ESC
2) 1800 mAh Lipo 3s (20-30 C)

the first time I used a GWS 1047
and the second time a GWS 0947 propeller

Bothe of times motor runs smooth on low throttle with realy good power, but when i go to full throttle it burns off!
Can this power combination work? Or I should reduce voltage to 7.4V?

please help me

hi,
too big of a prop.
Try GWS 8040 or 8043 for such winding or anything that will keep current below 10A!!

Measurements of almoust similar motor:

GBx1 19T 0,45mm Star, kv1300 Rm=0,456 , eta max 78% @3A

power/W power/W Eff. U/V I/A prop rpm
(in) (out) %

3 10.0 0,30 ------ 12,8k
4 12.0 0,33 ------ 15,2k
54 41 76 11,7 4,6 0735DD 12,4k
121 70 58 11,6 10,4 8043SF 9,0k

You should get 18 turns of 24g very easy. Even with 21 turns 10x47 will be too big a prop.

Did you spin your motor up (in a chuck) and measure the output voltages? I know the one I melted had one arm wound up reversed. It would spin w/o load - but glowed when I spun it up to see why the amp draw was too high.

Hi JJ1,
Ok so you think i can use the same combination with a smaller prop!
I'll give it a shot and let you know about the result :)

One more question:
what about GBx double stator? can i use a 0947 or 1047 prop with this motor ? (say 26g and 17T or 18T 3s Lipo)?

thank you again for replying

Do testx 30 and 33 before powering up a newly wound motor:

Would try 11T Wye winding on 0947prop and GBx double.
For 1047 prop 13T would be more suitable, although pitch speed will be low,
therefore that configuration is only suitable for slow 3d planes.
Both combinatios need about 15A from battery.

If 26g is only wire youve got then use 2 parallel strands.
Parallel 26g equals single strand 23g.

Hi jj1
What is the name of simulation program that you use?
