Just wondering what the best battery pack or cell type/and or arrangement is for the Carbon Destiny. I will be running 368s and a 5245. 4 or 5 cell to. ;)

you can use just about anything..
i usually run a 5cell AAA 720mah that i order with my destiny from SUSA but i have also ran 4cell AA 600mah square packs too.
The size is not a huge issue since the fuse on the destiny is pretty large compared to most 60"ers... your gonna need the weight anyways so why not get more capacity or a more cells..
I run 5cells because i ds them as fast as possible and want quicker servo response and as much torque as i can get..

You've answered all questions I have been pondering there in one, JOe :D Servo response, torque.
But I have just thought up some more for ya seeing as your on a roll :D What servos were you using in yours? Could i get away with a 5 cell AA cell sized pack? If not how about a 5 cell pack of these: http://www.wattsup.co.nz/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=47_80&products_id=81
Oh and I also plan to DS mine as fast as possible :p :D Hence buying th good gear, and hopefully getting New Zealand over the 200mph mark

Oh and btw does anyone have access to the thread JOe did on the C-Dessy at the end of last year? Or the one detailing his 250mph run and mods?
Or could anyone (I know it's a big ask :( ) give me full details on making my Dessy structually capable of the 250 mark?

Alex, had you thought of going 6-cell nickel and putting a switchmode regulator in there? That way the servo speed and torque would be constant through the flight (although you'd also get no warning whatever of a flat battery...). Hyperion have just released a 4.5A switchmode regulator that would do just about any reasonable set of servos... Matt at RCBandit has some.

Hmm im not sure. I want a good setup that doesn't clutter up the inside of the fuse, and is as simple as possible.
I'll wait till I get the airframe then do some measuring and make my decision from there I think :)

That's what my g/f told me anyway, so I got her to help with that ;) :p :D :D :D   :)
Is 720mah enough for 2 368s and a 5245?
