I sure hope this is not an example of what to expect from FSOne so far as upgrades, new planes, etc. are concerned. I know they have been promised for some time.
I registered my FSOne package on-line when I received it for Christmas 2006. They just returned the on-line registration confirmation today. I'm not holding breath.
That said, I fly it every day and am impressed with the original release.

I got mine at the WRAM show this year. I haven't registered it, which is probably a bad idea.
I have G2 and the Ikarus flight sim and have had others. I totally rejected G3 when I discovered that the planes land themselves. G3 is a beautifully done joke if you can't practice stuff like landings.
In FS1 the glider tow stuff blew my mind. I have a 4 meter sailplane and the tow is very realistic. I also have the collective version of the e-Flite heli and the one in the sim is slightly harder to fly, which I really like.
I've spent most of my time fooling around with 3D and that is way more realistic than the 3D stuff in the Ikarus sim.
I really like this and think they did an excellent job of making a real feeling sim worth practicing on.

Yup, I am duly impressed with the FSOne but would like to see some progress toward added aircraft and capability.
I would really appreciate the inclusion of a mode that produces sudden malfunctions. Real RC aircraft are REAL good at requiring emergency landings and I think a simulator should as well. I recall Dave Brown's original DOS simulator did this.

I agree too. I tried G3.5 and FSone off and on for about a month before deciding on FSone. I was not dissapointed. I felt it was harder to fly in FSone which I really liked. I like all the harder to pin point idiosyncrasies like the way the planes respond when flying in wind. Good landings were really hard to do. Great practicing tool! I ran into some problems with setup initially. To be exepected. I've had it happen on other 3d apps. These new sims really do like current hardware just like any other 3d game so make sure your hardware is up to snuff before plunkin down your cash. Having a good video card makes all the difference and really allows you to see how much work went into the graphic development in the models.
Having the ability for users to develop models, even if it meant purchasing a separate application, would be nice otherwise allowing for other common 3d formats would be cool (AC3d, 3dmax etc..)
I end up flying the same planes on a regular basis but I really have no other choice since I have to use what's there. Many of the planes that come with FSone stock, really don't interest me but It is evident that they tried to cover a lot of ground which is good for a sim. I imagine power users will just customize it to their liking. Just putting up a model every couple weeks or so on the website for download would be cool.

I know their not as good as new aircraft but atleast it makes it more interesting.

Trav4011 -- Have you contacted Hangar9 support? FS One does indeed work with Vista.
If you are still having problems, let me know specifics and I will try to help.

Wow.. has anyone tried the Ultimate TOC 46% Tail Bounce?? Obviously need some damage tweaking done. I don't think I have ever seen a 46% dropped from a 5' hover directly onto the rudder, have it bounce back up with no damage and then continue your hover. Not talking about easing it down either.. this is a dead drop from 5'.
They need to get with it on this Simulator. At least get some Fliton planes in there and if your not going to at least give the user the tools to do it. I am already trying to take a $60 hit on this thing to sell it.. show some sign of promise for this sim so I don't have to give it away.
Lets face it. The consumer is paying top dollar for something that is fairly plane (no pun intended), when compared to other software. The only reason developers can get away with charging so much is a combination of the target consumer and the lack of competition. That includes G3 and other similarly priced Sims.

The FS One will work with Vista ONLY if you have an ATi GPU...The drivers are BETA for nVidia at the time, so FPS, graphics quality, and compatibility are all significantly reduced...I ended up formatting my hard drive to get XP back on my system...My specs at the time were.....
• AMD Athlon XP 2400+ (2.00 Ghz, and I know it's a bad processor)
• 1.25 GB RAM
• nVidia GeForce 7600 GT (256 MB VRAM) I had my AGP Arperture size set to 256, AND I overclocked it...I STILL wasn't getting anything close to what I could get with XP without those settings...

Travis -- I'm sorry to hear about this. I know you've been using FS One for some time now.
We have NVIDIA cards running fine under Vista and seeing good speeds. As is often the case, graphics drivers are very important and we've seen cases where the graphics drivers for Vista are not yet "up to speed". In other cases, things work fine.
