Guys

Any new advances on an ideal electric airframe for a UAV.
I am currently going to use a Magpie Ap as a test bed and then move to something better.

Is their anyone out their that has plans or that would want to start an open building project thread.

It would be great to see a thread were everyone could contribute to building the ideal air frame.

I don't have the knowledge to start such a thread but would be very interested in giving input on what very little knowledge I have and buying the test or end product.

I have 2 tools I have been using -

Motocalc (www.motocalc.com) , and X-plane (www.x-plane.com)

Motocalc for designing the electrics fit, basically power to weight for given performance, and I use X-planes 'Plane Maker ' utility to design and test fly the airframe. X-plane has the advantage of doing real time airflow modelling on the model , coupled with weight, balance, and power - and a few other things to actually determine how a shape will 'fly'. Much better then arbitrary numbers.

I have only done a couple but it is lots of fun.

Thanks for the links. It would be allot of fun building your own plane.

I will check them out.

I don't know if this would be helpful to you or not. I did a very extensive build thread on an electric with a single tail boom and T tail here.
