Radio Modem Experiences

Hi all,
I am looking to buy a 900Mhz 1 Watt radio modem. I have looked at aerocomm and maxstream OEM radio modules. What have people on this forum had experience with? I am tending towards the aerocomm modules as the development kit seems very cheap 2x modules, 2x daughterboards and cables, antennas for $199. But how does the real world performance in a UAV application compare. Can anyone suggest any other brands of comparable modems?

I am interested in non-line of sight performance and would love to know what antennas you are using for the given levels of performance.

we have considerable experience with maxstreams as well as the more expensive freewaves.

both work well.
