Anyone know anything about the f3-modellbau Buran, please; hardly looks cutting edge, but inexpensive:

I can't get any information on it in England.

You are hooked with the "cam" wing tips :p They did not work for Jaro Muller...
Plane is only one part of the package. It usually pays of to pay a couple of 100s more the equipment you are really satisfied with. look the specs carefully. Go with Buran if you really want it, and you are ready to take the risk, but there are many proven and well performing planes available for a marginal extra cost.

Tuomo,
Don't write the plane off until you know what it can do. Does it not deserve to be given a chance?
There is nothing wrong with a budget plane. The Onyx started out at budget price and now with the Onyx JW it has evolved into a reasonably priced potentially high performance machine.

Not speaking against Buran. It may be quite ok.
I just see that there is a risk in this purchase. One can buy a contest proven plane with more moder specs for 600-700e and up. Good competition planes are usually excellent for fun flying.

Nothing wrong with the plane, it very widely used in F3J in Russia and Ukraine. It's perfect for calm conditions due airfoil and weight.
If you want more allround ship, we will start production soon of SkyMax3 plane design/development Philip Kolb, Karl Hinsch, Reinhold Krischke, airfoil HQ/W-2,25/9 - HQ/W-2,25/8- HQ/W-2,25/8,5. The price will be very competitive too.

I have a Buran here and it seems to be a nice inexpensive moldie. I have 3 more on the way and should be here in about 3 weeks. I have not put it on my website yet as mine are X tails and I am doing pictures to reflect that now. Price will be $850.00
