Hi
I posted this in the park flyer forum, but am interested in an Australian perspective....
I'm looking at a step-up from a foamie park flyer and have found the HET Tucano (1m wingspan) and think this could be a good candidate for my Himax 2815/2000 which is currently in a flogged GWS ME109

Is anyone flying one of these, and what motor/batt combos are you using?
Thanks

Mr STI is flying one, but he is not round much these days, busy with work I think. I just checked old invoices and we set it up with a Hyperion Z3013-14 and I think he was using a 9060E prop on 4 cells. Its a powerhouse, missile of aplane I am told :D
Motor is just over 1000Kv, I have a feeling your 2000Kv motor will be a little hot as this plane really needs a larger prop and thrust more than high pitch speed you will get with your motor running 7050 or similar.
What is the AUW supposed to be for the Tucano? I cannot remember offhand, but I do have a motor in stock that puts out 1.1kg of thrust on 3 cells at 25 amps static and flies the 730 gram Hyperion chipmunk damn fast with unlimited vertical. Plus the motor is only $45.00! Using this with a 3s pack around 17-1800mah and 20c will cut your AUW right back and could make for a very nice sports plane.

Thanks Extreme
I was worried my motor might have been a bit hot... I have an Ultrafly BAe Hawk that this motor might be a better choice for, but it seems to have coped fine in the GWS Me109 (it's an extremely light plane though).
If I go with the Tucano, I'll PM you and arrange that motor!
