Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some input into a circuit I would like to put together. I usually hang around the slope forum and have done some composite building of slope airplanes, the latest being a Jart.

The wings get vacuum bagged and here lies my requirements. The vacuum switch I am using is a low pressure differential mechanical switch. I would like to build a digital version. Just to set the scene, the last time I built a microcontroller it was an Intel 8bit controller, used EPROM's to store the code and flash memory was a pipe dream, so please bear with me while I play catch up.

Requirements:
The circuit needs to read the current Vacuum in inches of Mercury and Milli bar, display current Vacuum level on an LCD display. Should also be able to set a maximum and minimum threshold that will control the vacuum pump through a relay. would also be nice to be able to log and output a graph to a graphical LCD

Ideas so far:
I am planning on using an MPX4100 absolute pressure sensor. I am looking for ideas on what Micro to use and what A/D I should use. Alternatively use a Micro with a built in A/D.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

One simple idea :

The SEARCH function ... this subject has been treated here a while ago !!! ;)

Hi Adrian,

Have you pursued this idea -I'd be very interested as we can't get the Joe Woodworker switch posted to the wilds of South Africa!

Cheers,
