its an approxametly 3' ww2 destroyer that has the parts in the box to make it drive in circles, figure 8's, etc
i think it was a revell

and it had instructions on how to make it fully rc :eek:

Yea sounds like the Blue Devil and it is a Linburg kit if I remember right.

You're right, Pat. I built one for R/C a long time ago, and I remember the plastic pushrods and bellcranks that were included. Rather ingenious for the time---.

Yes, Pat, that's a good description of it. Though it could become really animated, with turning turrets, etc., I never made it up that way. :)

I think it's from the mid/late 1970's. At least that's when I built it---. ;)

I converted one to R/C a couple of years ago but quickly retired it to display due to having very little freeboard aft. I ran dual motors and a single, centered rudder.

getting swamped too easily????

most of my ships have a 2" freeboard, wouldnt like to have much less than that
