Hi Guys

Ok this is probably a stupid question but im wondering if there is a way i can simulate different lipo batteries using an AC Adaptor. Dont really want to be using batteries in all the time it takes to set everything up and test programming etc etc.

Is there a device that will let me do this easily?

How many volts and amps do you need?

I'm going to go out on a limb and recommend you just use the lipo.

A few good light duty shallow cycles is exactly what they need to break in properly, plus you would have to perfectly replicate the supplied voltage under load (assuming you want to run the motor with that 30 amp figure you mentioned) in order to accurately model what will happen with your BEC, ESC LVC, and tons of other acronyms. :) Not to mention how video downlink systems are finicky over their power source, noise wise.

Though it would be possible to run the RX and servos off a 12v "wall wart" and maybe get some good motor runs out of a 12v power supply for your chargers, it wouldn't be an accurate "ground test." As well as the fact that higher voltages stress your BEC exponentially.

I use an old 3s lipo for ground testing, keep it a "storage charge" most all the time (3.85v/cell).

This would do a pretty good job.. http://cgi.ebay.com/MASTECH-VARIABLE-DC-POWER-SUPPLY-0-30-V-0-20-AMPS_W0QQitemZ140096462467QQcategoryZ26436QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem

A much cheaper one like this as very handy for set-up and other fun projects...
