torpedo dropper

i had an idea for a torp mechanism for any rc airplane 20 inches or larger. It would be powered by 1 AAA or AA battery and a small electric engine. it would be activated by 2 exposed pieces of bent metal. In flight, there would be a piece of plastic in between the pieces of metal, but when released (by a servo or bomb drop mechanism), the piece of plastic would stay with the plane, letting the 2 pieces of metal to contact, completing a circuit and turning the motor. The body would probably be made of foam or plastic, and the battery would be mounted on the bottom of the inside of the body (to keep it on target), which means...that youy could target rc boats with this thing.question is, could it work???

Sure it could work...

But how do you keep the torpedo at the correct depth. I guess you could make it float some, it wouldn't be a true torpedo though, but it would be pretty neat.

Maybe launch it from a WW1 style biplane so you can easilly line it up with a model boat.
