I'm sorry for asking such a stupid question but can I use a PIC12F509 instead of PIC12C509A.Will they both work with the same code or is any modification required???. :confused:

Uh, that covers going from the (very old) 12C50x to the (old) 12C50xA part, not migration from the 12C parts to the 12F parts. I haven't seen anything that talks about the latter; even the microchip forums are pretty quiet on the subject. They seem to be very compatible (except for programming the chip.)
