I've been using RealFlight since version 2 and of course had isues on XP in the beginning. Thatr all worked out andI have always found the Nvidia cards to work well with RF 2.0 and 3.0 to 3.5 on my older computers. So I went with a Nvidia 7600 card just to play it safe with the new install on Vista. After going through several versions of video drivers 2 motherboards and a test install of XP all on the same computer I began to think my problems had nothing to do with Vista getting in the way of G 3.5. If it ran on XP before why not no? VIDEOCARD! I pulled the 7600 card bought a 7900 and Badda Bing we are in business. Now for those of you that haven't tortured yourselves with computers as a hobby let me melt this mess down and pour it out for you. Most all Nvidia cards use the same drivers. RF worked for me on a 5200 card a 5900 card and now a 7900 card. The 7600 card used the VERY same driver as the 7900. RF 3.5 locked up in a very short time on the 7600 but has run perfectly for a week on the 7900! Why? I can't say since I don't know it just does and that is all I need to know. I hope I can save someone this 2 week fiasco to get to this resolution!

FYI - a driver that works for multiple chipsets is actually a collection of drivers all in one package... possibly all in one file. If the two cards use the same chipset, there is likely a difference in what display settings they will support, i.e. 1600x1200x32@70hz. There are other subtle differences in each card's 3D rendering abilities as well. Chances are that what appeared to be the same driver actually was not. This info may not be helpful at all... just an FYI :)
