View Full Version : Discussion Spectrum DX7 with Reflex XTR

I have a DX7 and a "JR type" plug that fits into the dongle and transmitter easily. I can't get a "transmitter signal" to run XTR. I've tried everything. When I switch the Tx "on", Reflex states that I need to "turn on transmitter".

What am I missing?

I have heard many people say that it runs "no problem" with their DX7. I used my Reflex for over a year with my 9C. Do I have to "reset" it somehow for the DX7? I realize that Reflex is designed for a PCM/PPM signal so what is everyone doing?

Also, what "swash" setup do I use on my Tx? Do I have to turn on "trainer" mode? I just can't get it to work... :o

I'm feeling pretty dumb right now...

Thanks in advance!

The Tx should be turned off. Plug the cable in, the Tx should turn itself on (the the power switch still in off). Works for me.

I still can't get a signal. What swashplate setup do you need. 1 servo or 3 servos?

Thanks.

Swashplate setting 1 (normal)
It freaked me out also that you plug in the trainer cord and the radio comes on. You have to turn the transmitter on or unplug the cord to turn the radio off in the sim.

I had exactly the same kind of issues installing Phoenix (I have JR 9303). Fortunately I dimly remembered using a buddy box arrangement, so figured out the "switch OFF to turn the TX ON" conundrum. Likewise, it took a while to think through the swash and some other issues.

More explicit instructions from the sim makers would help.

Take a look at this link, it may help you ....

I'd just add, re that thread, that my Phoenix cable has the stereo type plug (two rings) and works fine with my JR. Not sure if either Reflex or DX-7 is setup differently.
