Looking for comments on using a WiPort from Lantronix to build a onboard dash board and serial link over WiFi.
This device has 2meg for web page serving w/access to the serial ports using Java.
Two serial ports (GPS & Microcontroller) and port redirecting to PC.http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/embedded-device-servers/wiport.html

My only comment is you are not going to get much range over a wifi link unless you get pretty extreme with directional antennas (and have a way to always keep them pointing in the right direction.) That may or may not be an issue depending on your specific application.

Lapdog looks good I know where your going :) The only problem I see is the range,
I went the other way with my UGV... 900MHz Ethernet Wireless Bridge
Excellent tree and building Penetration btw
30fps 640x480 mpeg4 PTZ for video and lantronics for serial tunneling Gps and the Servo boards
I have yet to put all this in a bird but I’m about to give it a shot.
