My friend Kat in San Diego sent me an email about how he has had to seek out other slopes while they get the Torrey Pines situation sorted out. He found out that his 4.29 meter HKM molded ASW-27 is a very capable DS-sing machine.
"The 27 turns out to be an excellent DS-sing ship. The wings did not fall off or anything despite heavy load on the wing at high speed" said Kat. Here is a picture of Kat and what the rugged scale ship looks like.

I saw him DSing that thing at Poway 3 weeks ago. It is a sight to see. If he doesn't mind a short drive up to Ramona, there is Orosco Ridge. The east side is about 1000' and very steep. There is also a fire trail to the top, so no hiking is required. Just go way north(about a mile) of where the shooters are and you should be fine.

Kat is not on the forum, but I will mention it to him, although he is probably busy for a few days setting up his new 6.6 meter Nimbus.

I was there yesterday @ Poway and I too saw Kat take that plane down the backside, loop it around 6 - 8 times and then catapult that magnificent plane over our bewildered eyes at over 150 knts into the sunset, and I swear it seemed liked he never turned back until he was over the 15. Never felt so inadequate at a slope before, thanks Kat;)

Anyway after he finally set that beauty down "swear I thought he was going to hand catch he brought it in so soft and set it right at his feet" he hiked back up and took the time to teech us the proper's of D'Sing, once again thanks Kat hope to see you again.
