Does anyone have one of these. . .I see Tower is still pimping them on
the front page, but I have read nothing or known anyone that had tried
one. The only little bit I read was possible on here, and was
generally about how it was fairly fragile.

Tower will always pimp Duratrax stuff ahead of the other brands they carry
as it's one of their "parent" brands, AKA Great Planes distributing. I have
never seen one in action or driven one; I did get a real close look at one
at the LHS and was immediately turned off by how the chassis is laid out; it
looks to be a huge PITA to wrench on and the location of several vital
components would expose them to nefarious amounts of dirt and crud.
I've read a few mostly positive reviews on them, but you know how reviews
are!

A pain to wrench on? Have you ever worked on a Revo? Getting the front
diff out took me literally, an hour, and I never did get the gearbox all the
way apart, ended up just bending it and yanking it out heh.

Nope, haven't had the displeasure yet! <g> My bud is going to break in his
new 3.3 in as soon as it dries up outside so I wager I'll get to wrench on
one this summer.

Long time innit??
Takes me around an hour to take the diff out, rebuild and then reinstall!
But then I have an original non X Savage and they take ages, LOL :)

Tell me about it. It was my first ever attempt, and I have no instructions
of any kind heh. I can do it on the Sav (original, none-X) in not much time
at all :-)
