Greeting

I am an ultra-neebie here. I am very interested to build my first simple UAV and I would like to buy used helicopter model. So that I can put my electronic and microcontroller chips to control it. By the way, I want to know about the payload. How much can the helicopter can withstand the extra weight? Any special formula? Tutorials? PDF?

I look forward to hear from you asap

Used helicopters are plentiful and inexpensive, if you want something large enough to lift a payload over a pound you will probably want a 30 size electric or IC helicopter. That being said you can look in the for sale forum under e-helicopters for starters. Plan on spending many hours to practice before you are proficient at flying. I've been flying now for just over 4 years and it's just now becoming second nature. Adding a device to have it fly it's self has been done already by many, some at great expense, some not.

Good luck!

Thank you.

Is it www.e-helicopters.com?

Do you have any information regarding payload calculation?

I would like to start with a microcontroller chip to control the motors to move forward, backward and vertical.

Then I try to include altitude sensor (Know any good circuit or buy it from off-the-shelf?)

Third task is to include GPS module and digital camera (I don't know which one wold be suitable for my application but I would like to send 'take photograph' command)

I welcome any suggestion?
