High Wind jet drive

im in the process of building a jet drive version of a cheap high wind boat i have...

i have already gutted out the hull and cut out all the little plastic supports meant for the old setup..

ive also ordered the jet drive for it too, but its currently backordered, so ill have to wait...

it will be powered by a 700SC on 12 cells...this will be my first time modifying a hull (ill be cutting out a flat part on the bottom of the hull so the jet drive will work) so i hope i dont screw up... :D

I have twin Graupner jet drives in my Atlantic Challenger, and let me tell you, you are going to enjoy it greatly.

The part I love the most is being able to use a forward only ESC and still being able to reverse, and without having to stop the motors mind you. Just half throttle it, and then flip the reversers on.

i wont be using reverse...

i didnt order it with reverse (dont really need it) and it was backordered, so if i do order it ill have to wait for that to come back in stock too.....

someone used the same setup (but with 16 cells) on a traxxxas villain....it did great speed and performance wise....he even ran it in some small rapids...

heres some vids of his boat running...kinda wish i had that villain hull, but mine has a shallower vee, so i this it will be more suted for a jet drive...

Hrm. I have a villain. And I know a lot about Graupner jet drives. Hrmmmmm.............. :)

if your thinking of trying this build, you can go talk to the guy that built it....im shure he'll give you tips and info not in the thread...
