hey, im new here, but not to RC

over the period of a few months ive been gathering the materials needed to build this boat, and i finally have everything ready.

it will run on a GMS .40 with a 10x7 APC prop...

ive got one more tank to go before the motor is completely broken in, hopefully that tank will be emptied tomorrow, ill try to get some running pics too, but i cant get any vid as my camera records on film, it isnt digital.

the hull is 28" long, dont know the length or height..

its constructed from insulation foam covered in fiberglass.

thanks foamlover

i just finished breaking the GMS in today, and run it for an extra tank just for fun...

ill transfer all the equipment over to the hull today or tomorrow, but ill need to "rubberize-it" the servos so they are waterproofed...

rubberize? What does that mean?
How do you waterproof servos without limiting their movement?

rubberize-it...

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/MainPage.htm (look in info and tips section and it will tell you how it works. its in the water proofing section and ist called "new way to watrproofing servos..)

its a can of liquid, that when dries, leaves a waterproof, rubberlike coating...

i ran it today, started up on the first flip, ran for about 3 minutes, but the AoA was off and it was nose heavy, so it kept spinning out, eventually it flipped, everything was OK, radio box was bone dry, however, the throttle servo is messed up, im leaving it overnight to dry, but i think ill end up having to buy a new one....this time, ill put corrosion X in it...

oh man, that thing looks dangerous!
Have you tried putting a small underwater fin on the back of your original? That might help with it spinning out...
Let us know how the new boat runs!

it didnt run too well....water splashes over the front of the sponsons and main hull and stalls the engine before it will get in plane, i already switched all the stuff back over to the red hull....i was thinking of using a water rudder for the red hull....ill see...for now, it runs great on ground....im trying to get the CoG just right too...
