How much more is the battery drain with the added 3 ounces? Also, what's the climb rate on that thing?

Actually it is almost the best of all worlds. Because of the lighter wing loading, the bird does not flap as fast to fly. The gearing is changed to accomodate this. It therefore draws just a little less and flys longer and slower to give a nice flight.

The drawback of course is that with the lighter wing loading, you are grounded in less wind than the Park Hawk. I have flown the PH in winds up to 20, not fun, but able to do. The Slow Hawk is grounded over 5.

Now to follow the circle around, you can ballast the Slow Hawk to fly in more wind, but then duration comes back down. and so the circle goes....:p

The Park Hawk has been flown indoors but it is tight. There is a smaller bird for indoors in the works but it is probably 6 months away.

The Slow Hawk is too big for indoor.
