Hey guys,
I figured that there might be someone in the forums who might like to get their hands on this so I am going to offer it up here before going elsewhere with it.
This is my Uncles Canon S2 camera. Its about 2 years old. It is USED so please read on carefully. The camera powers up, will take pictures, only problem is there is no display, the LCD works and so does the view finder but you cannot see anything other then the on screen menus.*PLEASE NOTE VIEW FINDER AND LCD DOES NOT WORK YOU CANNOT SEE A PICTURE ONLY THE MENUS* I dont know whats wrong with it, I've messed around with all the settings, tried all that I can think of. The warranty is EXPIRED and Canon wants $150 to "try" and fix it. SO NO WARRANTY with purchase AS IS!!
As I said it does work you just cant see what pictures you have taken until after you remove the SD card or download from the camera.. He was going to sell this on Ebay "AS IS" or FOR PARTS if anyone has a use for it make an offer. Might be able to take it out of the case and make some sort of airship camera out of it or something? Or chance it and send it to Canon and see if its a "CHEAP FIX" my Uncle does not have patience for these types of things and has already went and and spent another $500 on a new camera.. So whatever you might think its worth to you, make an offer... I'll have some pictures up over the weekend...

Any questions pm me..

Thanks
Chris

Ran your offer by him.. its a little to low..

He contacted Canon today, its $150 to send it in and have repaired. Going on their website, using the serial number on the camera you enter in the information, it then gives you the total and address to send for repair so I would think if these are running $170-$300 new that $100 or so is a fair price to ask..
I guess its up to you...

Thanks for the offer

You really cant see that the power is on and that the LCD is lit and showing the menu functions but they are there..
Anyway here are the pictures, still taking offers on this.. I spoke with a CompUsa employee today he told me that they had several dozen issues with the S2 over the past year 1/2 they have been for sale. Something to do with the fiber optic connection "basically a cable" from the LCD/Monitor to the actual viewfinder. Long story short they are repairable. I told my Uncle but he said just sell it on the forums it can be someones "project"..
