Me again..., I'm attaching a Dolphin II outboard to a mono hull, can you use just one push rod from servo to the outboard for steering or should servo be in centre of hull and duel push/pull rods ?

I'm also surprised that the cavition plate does not have to even be near the water, unlike full scale boats requiring it to ride on the surface?
Surely the lower you mount the outboard the better ?

What ya think?

Have you put in a hotter motor in the Dolphin II? From my experience there nothing but underpowered hard to steer trouble.

IMO once I went above stock power levels the Dolphin required two pushrods (its also a good idea to get the pivot pin bored to 3/16" for a slop free bushing)

They steer fine IMO

Re the cav plate.

Most fullsize craft run submerged drives and smaller props. So the cav plate is never far from the water.

The racing F1 tunnels operate like the models and use a surfacing propellor. which sees the motor mounted at least half the prop diameter higher on the transom
