Okay, I'll be brief with -> I NEED to finally get my feet wet in this stuff & have been lacking it and wanting to for So Friggin' long!! :o
Okay, so I've got more than a few pc's I could use (most all have been collecting dust ever since I got my PowerbookG4, -I never thought I'd be a 'Mac person', but man, it's just not appealing anymore the fact that all those PCs have to have windows re-installed on the HDDs due to bugs,etc.. and I want data that's on those different HDDs so it's not going to go near as smooth as wiping & reinstalling)
For now though, I'm enjoying my Mac-life and wish that there was more support for DIY sh...stuff! :)
moving on....
Got the 'What's A Microcontroller Kit' from RS a couple months ago, and two problems, 1: not a problem, but was under the impression from the cover and everything else that the BS2 was a separate little board =good for smaller things, but no, it's integrated into the board, oh well  no biggy
Now the main problem has been that I obviously needed a USB to Serial converter for my mac, but I wasn't going to pay the $30+ bucks fo the high-end one (probably the one that would actually work) so I found- NOT the cheapest, but a cheap-ish one that specified being compatible for Mac off ebay. well it works in the sense that it powers the board, but the software for the BS2 doesn't recognize the port nor see it (downloaded all sorts of drivers trying) .....so that awaits
NOW
IF ANYONE IS STILL WITH ME HERE :o
While salvaging the motor from my old (Fusion- orange&silver elec) razor, to my astonishment, out of all the Pcboards, various toys & personal electronics, all the cellphones,etc... I FINALLY found a chip with a recognizable name that I was sure I could use and program...sumhow!!!!!
IT is an Atmel AVR TINY13v <something 2 that affect,
Now it is only 8-PIN (only<-:p like I'm so experienced and limited with that low number ;) ) but I want to program it to do anything, but really would like to use for RC
or IR rc to be exact!! ....Like....for a pico 3-4ch??? how many channels could I make with this?? rx wise (though I would also need to make a tc too, huh...... Ill worry about that later :D )
IS THERE ANYONE WHO KNOWS A LOW_TO_NO COST SOLUTION TO FABRICATING A PROGRAMMER CAPABLE TO PROGRAM THIS CHIP & OTHER CHIPS (I got scrap parts to fabricate, TONS, and am fine when it comes to following pictures and working with things!)
AND POSSIBLY-HOPEFULLY- capable to be used with a MAC or can use the whatever serial converter that lacks being 'special' enough for the BS2???
(oh no, I've carried on and overwhelmed....now nobody will feel like helping by the end of this novel :o )
ANY input/help will be forever remembered and appreciated to the fullest- as I am destined to learn programming and such- its the only path I'v not traveled, and I cant take it anymore!!! :)
