I found this web site http://hem.passagen.se/rollo/beskrivn_e.htm
when I was surfing the net in serch of a good rc receiver schematic diagram. The receiver uses the phillps NE605 FM chip. The problem is that the schematic is in .edb format (for use with EDwinXP), I downloaded it and tried opening it on my PC but it it does not open. All other project files work fine. There is a link to a .gif file of the schematic also but It is of low resolution and it is hard to identify the components, moreover the description is in german (I think  ). I have a couple of questions:
How can the receiver be used as an AM receiver or FM receiver?
Which Two filters are used in the receiver?
What are the values of coils used in the receiver? are they in mH or nH?
Please do help me out as I have purchased most of the parts for the receiver including the hard to find NE605D chip.I tried contacting the designer of the receiver but i got no reply. :( :( :(

If you are going to use the IC for the basis of a receiver, you need to study the data sheet available at...

http://www.datasheetarchive.com/search.php?q=ne605&sType=part&ExactDS=Starts

The circuit above doesn't look right because the recovered audio is shown coming from the RSSI pin on the chip.

It is a FM only chip so AM won't be possible. The filter types are suggested in the datasheet but whether they are available in small quantities is another question. There is also a list of values of all the components in the application example.

looks to me like it might detect am [RSSI signal strength] - no signal / lots of signal...granted its intended for FM....I'd have to try it before saying its not
going to work...

So finally what do I have to modify to make this an AM receiver.
