Well I broke down and bought it..

But I have noticed that it forget the last settings on my controller. And every time I start up the simulator I have to recalibrate it. IS that normal ?

Is there a Eco8 helicopter for it ? Or another Jet ranger with the same size dimensions ?

What would be a good setting for the training time delay to start with ?

If your controller is serial, you MAY need to re-callibrate after each new start. The reason is, some controllers do not provide consistent signal and for best result they need re-callibration. If your controller provides good signal range, you will be able to use it without calibration. If the controller has control ranges that are way out, re-callibration is needed each time.

TRex would be the electric that is closer to Eco8, depends on how the Eco is set. Eco is a little bigger, but that's is OK for learning. Smaller helis are harder to fly.

The time delay - try stay above 80% because too much time slowdown is not that helpful.

Makes sense, since I am using a serial port instead of a USB setup

Smaller is way harder !

80% thanks for the fast reply, now we need some more detailed models for the simulator. Some of them look really nice. But some look like a 5 year old kid drew them... ;)

Either way the simulator is great, at first I could not even get it to stay close to one location. Now I am getting better !

Do you mean the included ones or the add on ones. Mmm well either way they must have some pretty advanced 5 year olds where you are :D

There is kind of two problems with models that all simulators suffer from, polygons and textures the more polygons and the higher resolution textures you get the more the PC has to work to display it and then lower spec systems have low frame rates which may make it unflyable.

So it is a balancing act or compromise. You can play certain tricks on the eye to make things look better but then some people can spot those as well.

But one of the things with ClearView is that with AC3D you can modify any of the inbuilt models and either add polygon details or remap the textures with another if you want to do it. Other simulators have similar facilities in one way or another.

What I mean is some look very un-detailed as far as the body/paint/detail.
But some others look like miniature versions of the real model. Which I think all should be.
