Never mind, it's not worth the effort.

Have a nice day...

In case you can't figure out what Flim Flam means:

From Wikipedia:

The derivation of the term flim-flam man (con artist) is debated, but may come from the 1930s law firm of Flam & Flam, lawyers of less-than-sterling repute in the immigrant neighborhood of 165 East 121st St. in New York City.

Have you noticed how wattflyer is getting several hundred posts/day now instead of 50? Seems like some folks are jumping ship. I may join them! Getting to be too many ripoffs and silly idiots around here at times. Add mods that are not responsive and let fanatics set the rules for conversation and I'd guess they're jumping ship because this ship is sinking. (censored)!!!!!

What I want to know is where are the mods??? I see alot of posts lately about people getting reported and every one I have seen is a total joke. I have yet to see a single person get reported for something that is unacceptable. I mean for gods sake, using the 2 letters of B followed by an S is not anything to get upset about, now if it was spelled out, then that would be different. And there are no mods stepping in and saying come on people chill out. If a post is reported, it should be reviewed by a mod, and IF and I mean ONLY IF the post is offensive or derrogatory, then it should be followed up by pm or whatever needs to be done, but if it is not offensive or anything, then the person making the "So called offensive" post should never be notified of anything as there was nothing wrong. Come on MODS step up and do the right things.

I was reported some time back for the same unGodly, disgusting, and offensive letters. The thread developed into a question as to whether or not we could find the person we inflamed with our careless use of Bill's initials. ;) We were never given the opportunity to face our accusers. So sad that the world has come to this nonsense.

I may not post much, but I am on here every day. I read ALOT, and I have noticed that the mods here lack the well for lack of better words, brass ones, They have issued people warnings and points for some of the most rediculous things, yet they are not banning the known scam artists on this site. If you ask me its just a recipe for complete disaster for a great site. The well respected members on this site will soon grow tired of the problems not being addressed and will leave to goto other places making them bigger and better than the one they are already a part of.

I agree Doubletap, and I dont care if I get banned or put on vacation, I just cant stand to see a great site like this was going downhill in such a bad way. I am hoping that the mods will step back and take a close look at how they deal with things. The way they are currently dealing with some issues are insane, to issue warnings and points and ban great members yet do nothing to all to people who sell items and never ship them or ship an item that is so far away from the description that Stevie Wonder could see it.

I don't know what the big deal is in getting reported. I get reported probably every 100 posts or so. Now that they have the canned warning that informs you of being reported, I just ignore it unless a mod issues a point, which hasn't happened in a very long time.

It seems sometimes someone just don't like what you have to say, and fires the ole report gun. After all if they don't agree you must have done something wrong in the post  Don't make it wrong though.

Jim says it all. One guy complains and you get a warning, so what. You can't please all the people all the time. That warning should not even cause a second thought.

This is a great forum. Nothing else is even close, not perfect but very good. Most of these warnings should go in one ear and out the other.

I really like this site and would prefer not to get points/vacation/banned. Seeing some of the recent issuing of the points kinda freaks me out because I dont see any problem with a lot of it. Honestly, I think most of this stuff would pass in a 'G' rated movie. I hope that this place doesnt keep going even further that way.

If enough people jump ship (not likely) no make a difference in the bottom line ($$$) they may lighten up.

I had requested, demanded actually, that they remove my account after seeing just how many ding-dongs there were on their forums. They flatly refused to delete my account. I later found out from a moderator the owner wanted to pad their user count to drive ad revenue.

Thankfully through some hosts file hacking and other stupid browser tricks I don't have to see most of the ads here on RCG.

So, I got up yesterday morning and grabbed the Tampa Tribune, a small daily newspaper serving a minor community of 5,000,000 or so, and there on the front page, was a column talking about how Tony Dungy has had so much trouble, no (second letter of the alphabet, followed by a dot, followed by by the 20th letter, followed by a dot). Yes, that's right, the Founder and leader of a Christian Group concerned with raising black children with no male father figures, actually used my initials to describe the troubles his defense has had, ascribed to not having Bob Sanders in the lineup - but hoped Bob Sanders was gonna play today.
Amazing to think of the ruination of all those young skulls full of mush being further corrupted by the daily fishwrap having the temerity to use my initials without my permission; And in such a way as to clearly mean whatever the dirty-minded among their reading audience seem to think they mean. And as for 6 year-olds, we all know exactly what THEY think when they see those nasty letters....

Electronically monitored censurship isn't that hard to set up, you just have to type a list of offensive words and program a block. We do it when you put a member on the ignore list.

If it has been done... then I guess that would answer our questions as well.

Will,
I tried adding my own post to your thread and the feature is not enabled. I guess they only want the originator and the mods posting on threads there.

Punk,
I do recall your thread. I received a couple of points myself for stuff I posted there. :D I wear those points proudly. :D

But it does seem as if Jim Bourke himself made te last post there. He indicated that he agrees that there should be a different way to do it, but hasn't figured one out yet. He "feels" the mods are doing a good enough job of it.

Perhaps we should all post a thread in the suggestions and complaints forum all asking for the handle of the reporter when we get reported. If this is not deemed worthy, perhaps we could ask for the ability to reply to the PM one gets when one is reported. I am sure they might say that the PM is automated and there is no one to respond to. But the response could be automatically directed to the official mod for that forum.

It seems to me that a big part of the problem is a lack of communication between someone who is reported and the moderator/judge. By replying directly to the PM, one is establishing that communication immediately.

Just my $0.02
