ADE, et all...,
I've read A LOT of threads concerning the phoenix sim and considering getting it during the winter months while I drool and dream overflying my T-rex 450x successfully. A lot of people have talked about physics, graphics, etc..., but does it have a heli training mode like other sims? Can you control just 1, then 2, then eventually all flight surfaces? Can anyone comment on what the heli training mode is like on the phoenix sim if it has one? Thanks! --Navyflier

yep that training mode is in the sim. There is also autorotation training, as well as hover training modes for fixed wing as well as spot landing.
it works very well.

I haven't really used it except to test but I can say that Phoenix does have heli training where you can control individual flight surfaces, adding on until you can do all of them at the same time. I tried it once and it seems the main blade pitch compensates for your altitude but as a result accelerates you if you are far from neutral hover. This I did not like at all. Instead, since I'm learning to do inverted hovering, I decided to just fly in normal simulation instead of use training. Phoenix has autorotation training which I've played with a little too.

Wow, you guys are FAST! :) Thank you for the prompt response. I think my decision is made (once payday rolls around) :) Thanks again.

agree, I find hover training in phoenix a little too difficult (I can do sport flying and hold a hover in my Real Trex)
Personally, I don't think you really need to use the hover training mode, just fly the sim. That's what it's for.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say thanks to Phoenix. I just downloaded 1.03c and they've specifically fixed the training function. It no longer accelerates you way out of proportion.

Good news. I felt the trainer function was out of whack also.

GREAT news! Especially since the fedex showed up at my house yesterday with my new sim! Now I just have to get my tx out of the shop (programming problems, read user error) on sat. Then I have to decide to take the chance to use it with a sim. We'll see I guess! --Navyflier
