Flew the Parkhawk seven or eight times this weekend at the Original Small Step meet in Segoville outside Dallas this weekend and had a ball with all my toys but the Hawk kind of blew them away. Once the batteries heated up flights of up to seven minutes were the standard but on one flight in the early afternoon with winds about five knots I managed a 12 minute flight. Got to hopping from one thermal to another with the wings beating at about one quarter impulse, just loafing along circling with another flyer with an old timer. It just continued to go up with each turn. Finally about 1000 feet or better the purple bird was getting a little small and I pigeoned the wings and come on down. The other flyers got a kick out of the rapid altitude loose but it works for me. I personally don't care for the wing lock to hold the wings straight as the control-ability seems at best marginal. Any ideas on how to correct this problem would be appreciated. Flew the last flight with a stripped servo on the elevator (Hitec 55), noticed the difference in the turn (slower response) than normal but I normally use the elevator as trim and to increase roll response in turn. The altitude I control with throttle (I still fly single channel aircraft too). Great weekend with a great crowd. ed
