I used a HS85MG for the rudder and there was not enough room for the Z-bend to fit between the servo case and the cf side piece. I cut the control rod and soldered on a metal link. Works great and is adjustable.
My elevator servo had to be mounted with the output forward for the stock length rod to work.
I am leaning towards a 555 rx. I have three of the GWS R4P and have gotten shot down with one of them and I don't want to trust a $200 craft to a $30 RX.

The 555 is just ok if you take the case off. At least that is what the manufacturer says. A good dual conversion choice at a low weight is the FMA M5.
