Do you glue the tail to the two mounts or is the friction fit good enough ???

I am leaning towards a little epoxy.

Thanks

Are you talking about the two parts of the tail assembly that press together like overlapping fingers? See attached photo. I used CA at that joint, but I would bet that epoxy would work fine too. It is absolutely certain that you must use something to glue it, or the tail will fall off!

I used a little 5 min Epoxy.

The PH is evolving so fast that the instructions have been left behind.

Thanks

While true that the directions have fallen behind... They are being fixed! Sean has understood the need to improve on his directions. An example is a new CAD drawing that shows where things go and what they are called.

I will be posting a copy of the drawing shortly. Please keep in mind that this is still not a complete drawing. The directions will also be updated. I will put a copy of the new directions on my website when available.

My PH finally made it's maiden flight last Friday. I will post pix as soon as my camera charges up. We had the tail jar loose while loading it in the car. As you know, the two CF rods that go to the servo bracket are held in with a miniscule amount of glue. After a touch of CA we attempted aviation and immediately had to do some trimming and throw adjustment. The PH only turned right, almost no left. After tumbling out of the sky, the tail had completely loosened up.
My friend made some fiberboard cheek plates and glued them on with the CF rods sandwiched between them. He finished up with kevlar thread and the tail is very sturdy. Unfortunately the wind has been up since then and I'm waiting for another opportunity to try it.
