Using Tx with sim's

Does anyone know if when you use your Tx with a sim. does the Tx transmitt a siginal? I ask this because if it does should we not extend the antenna so as not damage the Tx? :confused:

I used my E-sky Tx with FMS and I now use an RD6000 with ClearView.

I take the crystal out, apart from anything else it makes the Tx battery last longer :)

On some Tx (JR I think) plugging the jack into the trainer socket disconnects the RF circuit. I think testing this with your Rx is very simple.

You are correct, just do a range check with and without the buddy plug in.
