RealFlight G3.5 .
I bought a GreatPlanes RealFlight G3.5 for myself and am so well pleased with it I got in trouble with my wife for not doing my chores. Ha Ha HA .

It is so realistic and versitile. The planes have the flying characteristics that the real model does. I want to put the program on a conputer in the basement and be able to allow the grandchildren to "fly" down there while I fly upstairs.

I READ SOMEWHERE THAT BEST BUY SELLS A TWO-STICK GAME CONTROLLER THAT WILL WORK WITH SOME FLIGHT SIMULATORS. (YOU DRILL A HOLE IN THE BALL AND GLUE IN A DOWEL FOR THE STICKS.)
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE GAME CONTROLLER FROM BEST BUY WILL WORK WITH THE G 3.5?????

you have to use the realflight control with it. The controller is the copy protection and also the dongle for real transmitters to play thru. I don't believe that realflight sees any of my other windows joysticks as usable but I'm going by memory on that one.

You need two copies of RFG3.5. Other sims like Clearview ($30) work with gamepads as does freeware FMS. MS FLight Sim too. AFAIK the security dongle in RFG#.n is not networkable and even if it was, it would only allow a single instance to be flying at any one time.

As posted above, you'll need another copy of G3.5 to accomplish the goal. Honestly, $200+ seems a bit pricey for simultaneous entertainment, but if the kids are serious about flying, great!

G3 (or G3.5) is networkable... the online multiplayer feature could easily be used on your home network (LAN) instead of the internet. Just be sure both machines can handle the (large) load G3 puts on a computer...RAM, Video, Processor....

Case, what I meant was the dongle is likely not networkable - as in if you have a second PC with RF installed it will not see the dongle on the other PC.

looking into purchasing a used sim.. realflight g3...i know it will only work with their controller (correct me if i'm wrong) that is why it's $$$ (expensive)...anyways does these software have to be registered?

:)

yes, The person selling must unregister their copy so when you purchase it you can then re-register under your name. I believe that they must call the tech support number to un-register it.

Freeware FMS and X-plane. Plus you can use it in MS Flight Sim.

Yes realflight does unregister the software for you so you can sell it. It's part of the user agreement. Don't know how that could be fishy. That's their policy.
