Hello,
I have looked around at a ton of models for FMS, and havent found one that can fly faster than teh Curtis, that plane with floats on it. Does anyone know any faster, and where I Can download it. THanx Patrick

Patrick,
The Curtiss is slow compared to the E-racer Bipe, and the F5B ship I've got on mine. I don't remember where I downloaded them though. If you don't throttle back you'll lose control, or site of it in a hurry.

Hello,
Yes, I know its the SR-71, but its name on FMS is ER 71. I clocked it at going 150-160 m/s in up to level flight, and when I had it up to about 3000 feet, and brought it straight down.....187 m/s. Thats the fastest I found so far. I also have a Flying bike, a bird, a moth, a space shuttle, and a pylon racer. -Patrick

Didja know you can tinker with any of those models and make them fly how you want ?
Looooeeee!

Go to the German website..http://www.rc-sim.de/ and click on the transmitter, in the side bar is the selection "download" click it.,,
The column with FMS above it, has all the planes you could ever want. In there, somewhere in the middle, is the "Twister F5B" model. If you want to go REAL fast, turn the newtons of thrust in the PAR files up to over 100. And then expect to lose sight of it real quick..;)

Putt_13,
Like FlyByMike says, you can change ANY of the FMS planes to fly completely differently simply by loading it's .PAR file into a text editor and making some changes. A typical .PAR looks like:
0 1:Type(-) Type[0=Plane] ParDesigner Ver0.8
25 2:Tmax(N) Maximum Thrust
0.3 3:Drmax(rad) Maximun Rudder Angle
0.11 4:Demax(rad) Maxmim Elevator Angle
0.003 5:Damax(rad) Maximim Aileron Angle
1.0 6:CLmax(-) Maximum Lift Coefficient
-1.0 7:CLmin(-) Minimum Lift Coefficient
6.2 8:CLa(/rad) Lift Gradient
13 9:CLaSt(/rad) Lift Gradient in Stall
0.018 10:CDw(-) Drag Coefficient of Wing
0.02 11:CDb(-) Drag Coefficient of Fuselage
0.4 12:mug(-) Friction Coefficient of Wheels
0.76 13:dCDSt(-) Rise of Drag Coefficient in Stall
0.00 14:CM(-) Moment Coefficient
0.00 15:alpha0(rad) Wing Angle
1.6 16:b(m) Wing Span
0.32 17:c(m) Wing Chord
0.08 18:hce(m) Equivalent Center of Gravity
2.1 19:m(Kg) Mass
0.11 20:Izz(Kg*m^2) Yaw Inertia Moment
0.085 21:Iyy(Kg*m^2) Pitch Inertia Moment
0.06 22:Ixx(Kg*m^2) Roll Inertia Moment
0.09 23:She(m^2) Effective Area of Stab
0.05 24:Sfe(m^2) Effective Area of fin
1.0 25:Lt(m) Tail Moment Arm
0.000 26:VForm(-) Effect of Dihedral Angle
So if you did things like increasing the Max thrust and reducing the drag you could make a stupidly fast plane if you wanted to (and it doesn't matter what it looks like, pick a sedate looking WWI biplane and turn it into a hot rod if you like!)

I also love the way Vbulletin smilies sneak into the 3 axis PAR lines, 3,4 and5. :D :D :D

Please try my model are below.
Their par-files are from Mr. Sekiai’s F5B Twister.
Visit my website Hanger2 and try them.
http://kimagure-hikoki.hoops.jp/Hanger2/Hanger2_index.html
Speed400 / EP Racer / EP RacerBipe / V-jet /
If you want mote power for them, rewrite the second line [Maximum Trust] of the par-file.
And get the perspective of the screen wider by pressing [-] key.
It will change your feeling of flight in FMS.

I have a Projeti which clocks several hundred m/s, it's from one of the main FMS sites.
RC-Sim.de used to be great until they asked for registration. I tried to regiester several times and it never worked.

The fastest FMS model I have flown is Superman. I think I found it on one of the Japanese sites but that was over a year ago. Almost impossible to fly full throttle.

What I like about the FMS twisterF5B model is that as well as being the fastest FMS model i have seen, its quite realistic! (both looks and performance). Well worth a try.

Another ridiculous one is the magnum, the FMS field is too small to fly it. I have had it over 180m/s.

You didnt post the file right:( You need to put the zip file on, llike from where you downloaded it.

There are a huge number of models that are faster. I got an FMS disk with my transmitter I got on ebay from www.tti-us.com/sim
It came with FMS and "700 additional models" in reality there are a good number of copies.
The person that said superman was the fastest I think is right. Its the one that will crash the soonest if you don't pull up with in about 1 second because of its ground speed.
I think the X-Wing (starwars replica) is the coolest I've flown. Makes me want to try and build one.
I could post a few models if you can think of the name of some. I'll watch the thread for a couple days and post some when I can.

That was me.
I can only fly Superman with any control around the 1/4 to 1/3 throttle. Otherwise he is eating dirt.
At these speeds, the planes are only a passing interest to me and not really useful for learning to fly.

This one!!!!
Now seriously: like others say, any kind of model can be flown at ridiculous high speed but you don't get fun from flyin so fast.
The X-15 and SR-15 flown with standard setup are the faster and the most difficult to land too.

Here's the link to the download page for the Snoopy thing.

And here's one of the biggest sites to download FMS models. Links to all best known sites:

Here's a VERY cool plank wing like a Moth or M60 DS glider.
Fly's really good, but just give it enough throttle to get up to speed then glide, picks up speed like crazy in a short time.
Pretty realistic.

The fstest that I have flown is the V-jet. I've clocked it at more than 460 meters per second

I've gotten slightly over 1000m/s vertical, or about mach 3, then you have to just shut the engine off and let it fall down to where it's see-able again. Of course, the pilot's eyeballs probably exploded from the g-forces.
Start with a jet like f-16 or f-104
jack the thrust (line 2) in the par file up to about 200
start at zero throttle and just touch it, get it going up at a pretty steep angle, hit the gas...
tweak the wing angle of attack (line 15) until you can get it to go straight hands off... (use a few decimal places)
more thrust in par file... repeat as necessary.
Not that any of this is realistic or anything.

Hey Cbatters,
I got a good fms model from you that was zip filed,I've tried all the links to find the Snoopy doghouse model, none work! I was wondering if you (or another generous reader) might have a zip file of it I could get?
