Below is the e-mail address for the MAAC Atlantic Zone Director. He should know if there is any glider guiders Down East.

I grew up between Richibuctou and Bouctouche. I only got into the hobby after moving to Moncton, so I haven't really searched for thermal/sloping sites in Kent co. There are hills in St-Ignace and Ste-Marie. Maybe you could find a sloping spot there? If you do, please let me know! I go back to that region from time to time to visit my relatives.

I found a couple a slope soaring spots in southern NB: Dorchester Cape, and Dennis Beach. These are bluffs/cliffs facing the Bay of Fundy and lift is plentiful.

As for thermalling, I'm sure you should be able to find some large fields. Just a matter of asking permission from the owner, I guess. There are no formal clubs there that I know of. The closest would be the Greater Moncton Aeromodelers Club. I was a member there last summer and had no problems flying my sailplane and sharing the field with the power folk (though I had an electric model). There's room for a hi-start if you don't mind walking through the undrained, soggy field.
