I have a Com Pro 25A BL ESC that smoked. Model # TMM2512-3S. I looked at the FETs and it seems to have burn't a Siliconix MosFET part# SI4427 with the S08 footprint since I can see a small crack and bulging on the surface using a magnifying lense. I believe this is a P-Channel. I tried to look around to see if I could locate this but I seem to have run out of locations. Seems this part may have been phased out. Also I am not quite sure if this is the only thing wrong with it so it will be an experimentation. Would anyone on this board have a part that I could use?
Thanks for all your help. :)

hi,
you can replace the p fets with irf7425 diference is this can handle 20V V_DS (exact equivalent is irf7424)
and the n-fets with irf7832 (irf7455 might be enough, exact equivalent is irf7821)
i recommend you replacing all fets.
and see if the driver is fried before powering it up.

There are 12 total FETs on this board. If I have to replace them all, I might as well just give up now. I was hoping that just replacing the 1 FET would get me back. I noticed that the thin aluminum had a brown burn't mark at the location where the cracked FET was. Hence I assumed that the only damage is to the 1 FET. How would I check the driver?
Thanks for the help.

Remove the burnt FET, then test the ESC with a small battery and motor (I use a stock CDROM motor for testing). If it works OK then you shouldn't need to replace any of the other FETs.

the fet failed for something...
and if they are 12, then at 3 phase, it is 6x2, so fets are paralleled, at least you should change the fet that is paralleled with the one that is damaged, because the new will not fully match the characteristics of the one that is on the board in parallel.
Anyway, using better fets is always better.

Thanks for all the replies. I will post the picture today of the board and maybe someone can walk me through this. I am not an electronics wiz like some of you here so I appreciate all the help I can get to fix this thing.
z-matrix, could you direct me to a source where I can buy your recommended FETs? Thanks again.
