For those that have suffered along without their Razor motor take heart--Stop by the Diversity Models/Neumotors booth and you can pick up a new RZ300,350,400 or RZ2500 motor. They will only have a limited number on hand. For those that can't visit the show visit www.neumotors.com for info on the motors and how to get one.

I forget where I asked this before, but it can stand repeating I think :)
Do you have specs for the various Razors for those of us who never had one before and would like to try one out?
Kv, max amps, max rpm, weights, suggested and max power operating levels?
I have always heard good things about the Razors, but have no data at all on them and so no way to decide which one might be good for a particular application.
Thanks!

Oh - shaft diameter would help too.

By all reports I have heard they are some of the lightest, best small inrunner motors ever made. They have always been dificult to get tho.
Need specs to decide on exact applications tho.

You can fine the specs on Mat's old web site www.razormotors.com
I will put up a page on the www.neumotors.com web site next week with the specs also.

Thanks Steve and Jimsky!
Those pages have most of the info.
Still need to know shaft sizes for pinion selection and recomended continuos and maximum amp ratings would help a lot too.
Thanks!

The short can 300, 350, and 400 are 2mm shaft, I think the 2500 is, too, but not certain.

Tons of Razor info in the threads around here.....I bet you can find what you need witha search.

Tried several searchs - gazillions of folks asking questions and wanting to buy one and afew hundred posts of "My setup pulls XX amps", but..... no official specs or rateings :)
I'd kind of like to know what the mfg has to say about max rateings etc.

Don't quote me (or blame me if you fry a motor) but I remember reading in one post that Matthew Orme did not specify a maximum operational current for his motors. Instead a maximum operational case temperature was specified.
I just poked around and found a thread using the search function:
"I sent a request for information to the Razor website. What I got back was a disappointing "canned" message from Matthew Orme which said (in part) "There are no maximum watt, or current ratings for the motors. There are too many variables to give a number. The maximum temperature is 80 Celsius."

Most specs still here on the old web site (still works): Shaft size, Kv, Rm, Io.
http://www.razormotors.com/htm/catalog/motors.htm
Nothing here on max ratings....still ought to be out there somwhere.
As I recall, the Razor 400 was maxed at 10 amps, the Razor 2500 was rated for 7-20 amps. (180 watt continuous, 220 watt ok for bursts for the 2500.)
Matt O. was always vague about the max rating of the Rasor motors.
The old Razors had a max temp rating of 100C for the magnets...this would be the real limiting factor.
You might have to wait for Sneu to post the max ratings, if they must be..official.

Thanks to both of you!
You are both better searchers than I am!
I also missed the shaft sizes the first 4 times I looked at that web page!
I can understand Mathew being a little wishy washy on max amps, watts etc. Its very true that every instalation is different, but some sort of guide lines would be nice.
Max case temp is not something you can plug into a formula or use to predict flight performance. You can only get that information - case temps - after it way too late - you've already put down your money and bought what may well be the WRONG motor :)
User reports are also - at best - something to be taken with large grains of salt.
"Ive been running my XYZ motor on 17S 200mahr packs, drawing 200 amps at 12,000 watts and getting 2 hours of flight time consistantly and everything comes down cool to the touch and it hovers all day with 22/1 thrust to weight and it only weighs 4 ounces all up!!!!"
:D

Actually, I just looked at the site for the 6th time - it does NOT have shaft sizes for the 300,350,400 or 2500. It has shaft sizes for most of the others tho :)

For those of you that dont have one....great motors , i have a 350 in a 3d flat foamy 40 in span , enough power to hover on a 830 12c 2 cell , 20 grams lighter than the himax 2015....never had a problem with mine....Dennis

I either own or have owned almost all of the short can Razors, so I had an idea as to the shaft size on those. Down to only (6) 350s, (1) 300, and a 24-3650 right now.
The 350 is very happy at 5.83:1 (12/70) in a Cobri box at 15A. Turns a 11X4.7 at the same RPM on that prop as a Torque 22T/930, but draws 4A less doing it (and the Razor/Cobri is about 6g lighter as well).
