Servo buggered?

I haven't run the savage in 2 months. Upon firing her up last night, I shot
off straight down the carpark. Straight is all i managed. Upon turning the
steering I can see a slight movememnt in the play of the servo linkage but
no wheel movements. Dropped the servo out and it works fine. None of the
steering parts are stiff. Now I've heard everyone before bang on about high
tourqe servos because the standard ones wont last long. This is the standard
one so I'm guessing its buggered. Any reccomendations on any other reason
steering don't work?

having the same trouble with an associated tc4 and supplied servo.
disconnected runs fine. Place in car and hold up is fine. Actually run the
car steering gets worse. Was blaming possible faulty reciever or perhaps
water damage. Am also considering high torque. Speed is required or rather
response time but i was looking at high torque as they may survive better.

Were the rx batteries fully charged? Ni-CD and NiMh both lose their charge
over time, and two months would be enough to run them down some.

If the batts were all charged up, pop the servo out, slap a horn on it,
apply resistance to the horn and work the servo. You're trying to see if it
"skips" or not. If the internal gears are buggered, it'll work fine while
in a no-load situation, but put a load on it and it's skip like mad.

Also, check the steering dual-rate adjustment on yer' radio!

My fault. I had replaced the 14 hexs and axels to suit 17mm hexes/ I
tightened the 2 screws that the arm pivots on to much on re assembly.

Though I would be interested in reccomendations for a good budget high
torque servo so the wheels actualy turn with out it having to be in motion!

Aye! the 645MG cannot be beat for the $$$. It works hella good on
throttle/brake applications as well, although not quite as quick as the
625MG's you've been running.
