I'm considering upgrade to challenger type plane from oly 11 with spoilers, I know build is alot more, but how do they compare in flying overall, many thanks bob

No comparison, the Challenger is a very large sailplane, it out launches, has better LD, just better from most stand points. This is grapes and oranges for a comparison standpoint.

again, no comparison with the build either... i'm in the middle of a challenger build, and not that it's "hard" it just is very time consuming. there are A LOT of parts to cut and fit, to make a very strong fuse! if your a builder as i am, you'll love it, but if not, it could be a bit overwhelming. i'm real excited to get mine finished!

thanks guys, I do like building, would challenger be more demanding flying skill wise? I also fly a 130 in. flatbottom wing type, low wing loading, many thanks, bob

This isn't from experience, however I'm sure you'd do just fine flying a Challenger if you've already done well with your OlyII. Just be sure to give her a bit more room. ;) Perhaps think a little further ahead of her while flying as well. (ie. anticipate what she's gonna want to do.)

FC is right, you can fly it, it is just a bit slower to react but has so many things that are really nice. The Oly II will feel like a hand launch.
