Hi guys,
i'm starting with UAV's and i have some questions: (i'm brazilian so my english is not very good) :D
if the wind is strong, the autopilot uses the ailerons or rudder to put the plane over the route? I need more information about the autopilot response with strong wind. The micropilot product's are good (the best)? The last question: can I program a flight longer than 500 kilometers or the autopilot has a limit? no, THIS is the last question: can I use my mobile phone to see watch the camera on board?
thanks,
Ricardo Sansolo.

The autopilot response should be proportional with the desired correction. Most autopilots have adjustable gain settings which allow you to adjust how much work it will do to keep a plane on course. Proportional is important though. If you're off course a little ways, you need small corrections. If you're off course a long way, you need bigger corrections. These are features built into teh software and can be set up in your plane with respect to it's own control response.
At some point the bigger issue is how much wind your airframe will handle and how much power you have to stay on course.
Your request is both ambitious, and a goofy way to do a long range flight.
What kind of testing are you doing now, and what are your results?

we have almost completed the notes with overall flight performance. same espec I have now with me: cruise speed: 71,94 km/h stall speed with flaps: 50 km/h max. weight: 15kg wing span: 3,2m range: 600km.
the autopilot we need, have to adjust the heading automatically considering the wind. Due to the long distance, the climate will change and we cant pre program the correction.
PS.: all flight is over ocean.
Ricardo.

Note that there tend to be strong winds over oceans. If there were a wind at 90 degrees to your course, dependant on your flight speed, the flight duration between two points could be doubled, so for a six hundred kilometer flight you would need fuel for twice that. ( The aircraft would be flying "crabbed" ie half sideways in order to follow the desired track.) A mojor factor would be the proposed cruise speed compared to the average wind speed.
