i've been looking at getting a Logo 20 recently, but am put off by the cost. it would be at least 1500 for a good setup. so now i'm considering a gas heli because they seem much cheaper. i've read a few good things about the Raptor 50, but that's all. i want a serious 3D heli with plenty of power. any recommendations?

thanks,
ben

Well my Raptor 50 with the OS50 has a ton of power. I use a GV-1 set to 1850 and it will do 3D all day. I would wait for the new version which should be out soon with many improvements over the current Raptor. The relaese date is supposed to be October 1. I really think that for the money the Raptor is the way to go. I have always bought Hirobo's and bought the Raptor to learn 3D on because it is so cheap and easy to repair. The problem is that it became my favorite heli and taught me the basic 3D maneuvers easily!

thanks raydee. how's the TT 50 Pro engine? any good? or is it better to go straight to the OS 50?

how many ball bearings does the raptor 50 come with? i've seen bb upgrade kits for the r30, but not the r50.

I have no experience with the TT50 engine but I do hear good things about it! I have heard that it runs smooth and is better on eating nitro but has just a little less power than the OS. I am just a big OS fan and that's all I will ever buy. The R50 comes with the 49 bearing upgrade already and a metal swashplate not to mention a good muffler. The R50 really is a great deal in my opinion. The new one will have better frames, better clutch and most important a better head with bigger spindle and thrust bearings. This should make the head real tight compared to the first Raptor! My friend went to the Chicago show and saw the new machines and was very impressed.
