Anyone on this fine board know of a site that sells plain metal tow hooks for use on a wood kit. Not nylon releaseable/retractable, just a fixed metal one with a blind nut or one that's adjustable in a track. Did a search and checked my usual sources and came up goose egg. Airtronics used to make 'em.
Any advice appreciated!! :)

Just bought two from Kennedy Composites and received them recently for new ships....very nice, adjustable, per your specs.
Good luck!

Anyone Know where a guy can get a RELEASABLE hook similar to the old Airtronics metal one? I have seen the ones from Multiplex and TMRC and I STILL like the old one from Airtronics better.
Thanks

Kennedy Composites sells about the best I've seen. I've bought more than one for planes I've scratch built. Might be overkill for your wood kit, though.

I vote for Barry's, great folks to work with too. Also, any habger hook at Lowes straightened and then bent back to hshape works too.

Are you sure you'll never use it? If so, why? Do you know who made it? It looks similar to the old Airtronics releasable.
Thanks

Man, that's a lot of questions for something being offered for free!
When we were into heavy competition, we built a releaseable like that, using stuff around the metal shop, and it worked fine until we started using 36v on the winch. Then we had to replace some parts...
Just take the thing and thank him for it! It'll work fine, trust me.

It's an Airtronics. I have two of them that are going into new builds this spring. They work great for larger planes on weaker winches since the line is totally capture and you can pull more line out at the top of the launch to pump it up a bit more.
