I have just run the Hex 80 on 3S2200 on the bench using the software. When I ran the USB trottle I can see smokes coming out on my Lipo :(
What caused it?? I selected 2 poles..I am using a Feigo 540L.
Is the pole setting causing it . When I ran with the Rx is seems OK!!!
I hope I have not stuffed up my Lipo..lack of clear instructions that is what caused it :(

Hello.
Was it smoke.. or sparks?
Lipo's dont smoke unless they are shorted or overcharged/melted etc..
They need a large exchange of energy to create the heat required to vent and smoke.
Please check all your connections and wires. Something is shorting, im sure.

I have been using Lipos for 2 years and never seen anything like this??? It was smokes coming from the packl..scare the sh!! out of me because I am in the study with no fire protection. I have to unplug it quicky. I have tested the lipo twice in flight, it seem to have cause no damage !!! There is somthing very wrong with the ESC..stutter badly and sometimes it continue stuttering and the wire and ESC get VERY HOT. On ocassion it cannot be shut off from the trottle..have to inplug.
It was not running on any load..sitting on the desk next to my PC...is a boat.
And when it runs it oly draws 4.5 amps..so u tell me what caused it?????
If this happen in the plane or boat u will see alot of smokes coming out.

Are you sure the smoke wasn't coming from the esc? Today I played around with my HXT PRO 120A and the brake setting. Suddenly also smoke came out of the plane but it turned out to be the ESC. Smelled pretty bad. The funny thing is that the ESC is still working, only the USB connection is dead ??? I also used that ESC with a Feigao 540 and always get that stuttering on startup (4-10 degree timing). It sounds as it would eat up the gearbox on an instant but then it recovers and powers up. Same thing on the brake as has only full brake on setting (not 3 settings as stated in the manual). I don't know how it behaves on outrunners, but its definetly not a good choice for the Feigaos. Unfortunately the 100A Hobbywing is too wide for my application :( .

Definitely Lipo..due to heating of the soldering joins I think??..
I use Nimh on most tests and I never see smoke on the ESC.
I think the stuttering is shorting the system, that is why my
wires were very hot. I even tried one of my good Hacker 40BL..
did the same thing..never try on outrunner...could be design for just that!!!
I am returning mine. My luck with the Hex 60 is not good either with Feigo:(
Any one with feedback on the 60 and 80Hex with inrunner????
