Hextronik 80 BEC??? MV series

The instruction is not clear on using BEC on Nimh cells. Can I use the BEC on 12 Nimh??? The instruction grouped the 12 nimh with 3 lipos(9v cutoff).
3 Lipos=11.1V 12nimh=14.4V, so can anyone clarify what is the max nimh for the BEC function???

Martin,The BEC doesn't care what type of cells you use only the voltage.Personally,I don't trust ANY BEC on a plane that needs a ESC of more than 25A.I feel that BECs are just another thing that can fail in flight and if you value your plane why risk it.Most planes that use or need an 80A. controller are usually big enough to carry the additional wt. of an RX battery(2-5oz.)Simple is safe!
