I'm looking for an RC surfer... would love to find a quality Mod in good shape, but would grab a NIB if available.

I'm a surfer in Malibu who spends too many days looking at 1 - 2 foot surf wishing it were bigger... now that I've seen this, I have to have one!

I have found one NIB for $235 (image below)... not sure if it comes with radio, batteries etc... anybody got the scoop on this? Is it a good deal?

Thanks!

The Kyosho surfer that you have found has been out of production for some time and very difficult to find N.I.B. There have been several "Knock Off" brands but the most desired for hopping up is the Kyosho.
I looked for an original for several months and ended up buying an N.Q.D. knock off with the performance kit consisting of a performance prop and 3300 M.A.H. battery pack. I paid $169.00 for it and the radio will have to be changed as it is a 40 M.H.Z. unit.
Try the web site at SurfRc.com, they sell all the high performance parts and do in house upgrades for the original Kyosho.
If I were you I would jump on the one you have found if it is complete and N.I.B.. I have seen Kyosho's sell on E-Bay for over $300.00 new and even one that needed new radio, motor, battery and E.S.C. sold for over $200.00!!!
My best buddy is a surfer and he has had a ball with mine! Check out the R.C. surfing videos at the above site and you will be hooked. Do a google search for R.C. Surfing and you will find all kinds of go fast mods and videos of super R.C. Surfing tricks.
Hope this helps,Happy new year!

BTW... tkoguy... the mods you mention.... is that the mod package they list here (http://rcsurfrider.com/store/#stocktopromod) ?
So it's got:
19 turn motor, water-cooled esc, Rcsurfrider sticker kit, mod motor coil, performance prop, Dean's ultra-plugs, waterproofed antenna, standard BB servo + single fin rudder steering system, cooling fins, plumbing, balancing and more.

Radio, batteries, charger?

If so... I'll take it
Thanks!
