I am looking for someone that knows if and how it works for sure. I plugged mine in and all I get is the message that says "Transmitter needs to be turned on". Did you ge tthe same message with the DX6?

Yes, you need to make sure the plug (jack plug) you have is the correct one, if it has two black plastic rings on the male plug its the wrong one, I had to chanhe my jack plug to the one with the single black plastic ring and it worked fine after that.
When you plug you TX into the computer its switched off, it should just come on when you plug in, no need to turn your TX on as you would normally do when you fly.

Ok my plug has two stripes. So do I need to buy a new cable from Reflex? My radio turns on when I plug it in but I get the "switch on your transmitter" warning anyway.

Yes looks like you need the lead with one stripe.

Ok so I need the adapter for JR from Stereo to mono. I wonder if this will do the same thing?

Do you have a soldering iron or a friend nearby with soldering facilities?

Get yourselve a mono 3.5 mm plug from an old headset or microphone and just solder it. No loss of warranty but frankly, with 2 cables going to 2 contacts you can't really mess anything. I have a DX6 and 7 and they work fine with the mono plug.

Thanks for the info, I tried to buy a adapter from Radio shack to change the Stereo plug to mono but that didn't work.
I didn't realize that I could resolder the original plug to work with the DSC jack on my DX7 radio. Now here is my question to you, on my plug I have a resistor inline with the brown wire. If I take the resistor out and resolder the connector the way it shows will i ever be able to use it with a non DSC radio again or will i need to solder it back later?

You need the resistor if you face this:

If you face probs with other radio, just solder a Y-connector to use any other plug as you need it. Life is that complicated because just a handfull of manufacturers breed upon new plugs every day ...

Well I don't really see the need to use another radio besides my DX7 unless I really don't like the radio. DO you think I will need to use the resistor when I resolder the connector if it had it before?

Normally you don't need the resistor. It's only needed for a very few JR's and it's detectable if you see the F8 screen as shown. All the others (Futaba, Sanwa, Hitec MPX ...) don't need that resistor.

WSN, I left the resistor in just because it was there to begin with. I ordered this when Reflex was just released for my Futaba 9C. I resoldered the connector to make it a mono jack instead of a stereo jack and it works perfectly with my DX7 now. I didn't realize there were so many new updates...I think I had the original version. I DL all the new updates and I really love Reflex and the customer service!

Thanks for the feed back. Connecting all that jungle out there to a single piece of hardware is a real problem but so far we managed to connect all the radios as long as they provide some kind of PPM signal. The rest is just a question of finding the right connector (plug/socket) and taking care of all the dust on my radio museum ...
