Does anyone have experience with all flying tail surfaces? I was wondering what the down side is compared to stabilizer + elevator or stabilzer + rudder?

Hi Dan,
i have experience with full flying elevator in big soarers. It feels smoother or softer, i'am in lack of better words in yr. language. The initial trim/setup has to be done carefully. Also, use a stiff mechanical connection/linkage to avoid flutter at higher speeds.

an all flying stab should be the best solution for a elevator controlled model. I'd make the linkage pull-pull or extremely precise in some other way. I'd also use lots of throw with expo or dual rate. Seems to me that this will help the control with power out situations or getting extremely nose high for hover. These are two situations where a fixed stab will just stall.
