I have a hacked together 12 ounce 3D plane. Essentially it is a Crazy Max wing, 35 inch span, with 2 servos on a profile fuselage. The wing and motor and tail feathers all have neutral angles and they are pretty close to inline. The wing is about 3/4 inch higher. The prop is 3 3/4 inch ahead of the wing leading edge.

I am planning another improved one of these with a brushless motor and would like to know more about right and left thrust angle. Dave Thacker's Radical Edge 540 uses an inline prop shaft with a left parallel offset. My current plane has about 1 1/4 degree right angle.

Does anyone have any opinion about which method, offset or angle, causes less drag? Or any other benefits to one method over the other?

Does anyone have any opinions on the value of having all 3, motor, wing & elevator, directly in line?
