Hi !

I finally got my first thermal sailplane MFA Mistral 2500 (wing span 2,5 meters) wing area 4305 sg cm.

I have a guestion of wing covering material, what is the best solution ?
Wing is balsa covered foam , tailplane and aeleron& elevator, rudder are balsa , fuselage is glassfiber .

should i use covering mateial for all parts as well or only wings, and some other for other parts ?

What is the best paint for fuselage it is all ready painted white and instruction says use primer after rubbing

Thanks

Oracover will work well over all the balsa surfaces. Automotive acrylic enamels will work well on the fuselage.

oracover is prefered by me and i would be sure to use it onthe wings tail etc, paint the fuse with enamel

my only other comment; dont use monocoat [topflight] on the foamcovered wings ,monocoat requires more heat than most and the foam doesnt cover well ,even under the balsa,it still creates a problem [bubbles] oracover works great! fledge

I am not familiar with this glider so I can't tell you if it's an easy one to fly or not. I have seen gliders of this sort that ARE easy to fly, but learning to fly can definitely be a challenge. Suggest you get a simulator such as CRRCsim (see the Yahoo group) or FMS (I think that's the name). Both are free, I like the first a lot more.

My favorite trainer is the Oly 2, but you have to build it. Available from skybench.com
